Im way too hung over to be wandering the streets of Krakow today. Last night I picked up some beer so I could chill at the hostel and drink with John from Dublin. Seven beers later at 1 am a group consisting of 2 aussies, a canadian, an english girl, a dubliner, a pol and 2 americans(me included) decided to go out to a club. What an interesting night. Not knowing how bad of an idea it was the polish guy taught me the word for pussy. Apparently my pronuciation is very good. Because I got tons of laughs from bartenders, cab drivers, grocery store clerks and just about every human I came into contact with. The Polish know how to party, and backpackers know how to drink. Fortunately the sun was on its way up in time to navigate back to mamas hostel. I think that not doing that was what mom meant by "be careful". Sorry mom.
So far this trip has been amazing. I have me loads of people from all over the place. Most of the Americans I meet are from California. I have traveled with a few of them from Prague to Kutna Hora, Olomouc, and Krakow. Im not exactly certain where Im going to next. Maybe Directly to Budapest depending on the price of the train ticket or to Slovakia first. I suppose I'll worry about that when I have nowhere to stay on Saturday night. I have been toying with the idea of taking the night train but I keep hearing that the train from here to Prague gets robbed frequently. I think I will just stick to the day trains.
Im going to head out to Auschwitz-Birkenau tommorow. I have a feeling that is going to suck but It's the reason I decided to come to Poland in the first place. The salt mines around here are supposed to be pretty cool but Im not sure if I will do that or not. Im almost ready to drop every plan and just head to Croatia and chill in Dubrovnik. Nearly every backpacker I have talked to said its the best city they have been to. Prague is cool but it is very touristy. The bridge and castle are packed during the day. And judging by how you get treated by locals I think they are sick of English speakers. Krakow so far is great. I hope to post again soon. I suppose it won't be until I have another massive hangover.
